The 2017 Boehringer Ingelheim Oncology Nurse of the Year Award will recognize a CANO/ACIO nurse who has consistently demonstrated the highest level of nursing excellence and leadership, and contributed to advancing oncology nursing and/or health system transformation. The recipient will be honoured infront of his/her peers at the upcoming CANO/ACIO conference and is awarded $5,000 to put towards further education and professional development.
“Oncology nurses are redefining the way decision-making is being shared through the patient journey,” says Richard Mole, President & CEO of Boehringer Ingelheim (Canada) Ltd. “We commend all the nominees for their inspired contributions to this fast-changing field and here at Boehringer Ingelheim we are proud to be recognizing their tremendous efforts for a fourth year.”
2017 is the sixth year that this award has been offered and each year CANO/ACIO receives many nominations for exceptional oncology nurses across Canada.
“This award recognizes the extraordinary contributions oncology nurses make to their profession, their patients and their community,” says Tracy Truant, President of the Board of CANO/ACIO. “We are proud of the leadership and high standard of care they provide, balanced with their ongoing professional development.”
