The deadline for submissions for the Helene Hudson and Clinical Lectureship awards has now passed.

CANO/ACIO Lectureship Award

Purpose:
The CANO/ACIO Lectureship was established to recognize excellence in clinical practice. Particular emphasis is given to abstracts that present innovative nursing interventions, unique methods of application of theory in practice, or show initiatives for improving patients’ quality of life.

Lectureship Criteria:
The successful candidate will be a leader in oncology nursing who has made impacts regionally, provincially or nationally. They will be a CANO/ACIO member who can deliver a highly professional and inspirational lecture. Self-nominated applications must be received by the deadline with all required documents (see Application Process).

Award Lectureship and Funding:
This award includes the opportunity to present a special plenary lecture at the CANO/ACIO conference and an honorarium, which can be used for travel and accommodation expenses to attend the conference as well as conference registration. This paper will also be published in Canadian Oncology Nursing Journal (CONJ).

Helene Hudson Memorial Lectureship Award (Amgen Oncology)

Purpose:

CANO/ACIO and Amgen have established a memorial lectureship in honor of Helene Hudson. This inspirational lectureship is awarded to the abstract which best promotes the spirit and vision of oncology nursing.

Lectureship Criteria:
The successful candidate(s) will be recognized as a leader in oncology nursing and have made impacts regionally, provincially or nationally. They will be a CANO/ACIO member who can deliver a highly professional and inspirational lecture. Self-nominated applications must be received by the deadline with all required documents (see Application Process).

CANO/Ovarian Cancer Canada Award for Excellence in Gynecology Oncology Nursing

Ovarian Cancer Canada has established this award to acknowledge the exemplary work of nurses in gynecology-oncology nursing with a focus on ovarian cancer. The purpose of this award is to promote the dissemination of information related to the nursing care of women with ovarian cancer or their families.

  • This award will be presented to a CANO/ACIO member who presents the best paper or poster in the area of gynecology-oncology nursing with an ovarian cancer focus at the annual CANO/ACIO conference.
  • The presentation may reflect clinical practice, education or research related to the ovarian cancer population.
  • The award, which will be presented at the closing ceremonies at the annual conference, consists of an honorarium ($500) and a framed recognition certificate.


CANO/ACIO Chapter Poster Award

Sponsored by the CANO/ACIO BC, Ottawa, PEI, and Toronto Chapters

The British Columbia, Ottawa, Prince Edward Island, and Toronto Chapters of CANO/ACIO are pleased to present the poster award, which will be awarded to the best poster of the CANO/ACIO Conference. The award will be presented during the closing ceremonies.
